As a Dearborn City Council member, I have supported funding for neighborhood street and local bridge repairs and methods to address severe rainwater including opening flaps along Michigan Avenue to prevent flooding.

In March of 2022, I was proud to support a language access resolution, requiring ballots to be made available in languages spoken by residents including but not limited to Arabic. I am committed to fair and equitable voting.

Support for traffic enforcement to curb reckless driving and funding for training and equipment for our firefighters are key priorities that I will continue to deliver on.

In 2020, I championed a resolution that resulted in the renaming of a community gathering space to be more welcoming and inclusive and in 2019, I led the charge to eliminate a longstanding local contract with ICE.

In 2020, I obtained grant funding from United Way for Southeastern Michigan to provide PPE to 700+ seniors across Dearborn. Masks, sanitizer and antibacterial wipes helped keep our seniors safe in the early days of the pandemic.

Funding for services including historic investments in recreation, expanded access to recycling and accessible playground equipment are just some of the service enhancements I have supported since 2018.
