Dear Neighbor,
My name is Erin Byrnes and I’m running for re-election to continue serving as your State Representative in House District 15! Our district brings portions of Dearborn and Dearborn Heights together, and I am committed to bridging our communities as we work towards a bright, shared future.
During my first term in the State House, I have championed our community by securing $15 million dollars for a new fire station in Dearborn Heights, and upgrades to existing fire stations in Dearborn. I also secured funding for public safety and health, and HYPE Athletics programming.
As Chair of the House Ethics and Oversight Committee, I am deeply committed to making our state government more transparent. In 2024, I introduced the BRITE Act with several colleagues, which stands for Bringing Reforms for Integrity, Transparency and Ethics. This bill package will address dark money in state politics, close the revolving door to lobbying, require disclosure of travel and event tickets, and ensure that campaign finance violations are addressed in real time. I am working hard every single day to take Michigan from worst to first, with regard to ethics and transparency legislation.
Serving as your State Representative has provided me an opportunity to vote on incredibly meaningful legislation, including the Reproductive Health Act, the Clean Energy and Jobs Act and the repeal of Right-to-Work, to name a few. My work on behalf of our community and our state is rooted in the values of social justice and equity, and you can count on me to have your best interests at heart.
It is my honor to serve you, and I take our community’s hopes and dreams with me to Lansing, as I work to advocate effectively for all of us. Together, we are building a Michigan that values and lifts up every person, every family and every community.
I look forward to continuing to be of service to Dearborn and Dearborn Heights!
